Angel Canyon is the ancestral home of the Anasazi people and now is home to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
At one of the Anasazi sites at Angel Canyon, there's a series of handprints along one of the cave walls.
It's difficult to resist putting your hand up against one of the prints on the wall when you see it.
It's almost as though whoever left these prints there was inviting us to reach out across the centuries and connect with this ancient people who came before us.
Although it's difficult to decipher all the meanings of the Anasazi rock art, one thing is very clear: the complete absence of any drawings or carvings portraying violence, war, subjugation, or slavery. This is in stark contrast to almost every other ancient civilization on the planet.
