That's Wild!
May 31, 2003
They don't call them night owls for nothing! Great-Horned owls rarely venture out during the day. And when this big beauty decided to take a morning stroll, she found herself surrounded by a flock of hostile ravens.
Paralyzed with fear, the owl froze in place and became seriously dehydrated until she was rescued and brought to the sanctuary, where she stayed at one of the large flight aviaries until she was well enough to be released.
It's all in a day's work for the staff of Wild Friends, our state and federally licensed wildlife rehab center.
This week, we take a look at some of the animals that are brought in to our wildlife center, what to do if you come across a wild animal that appears to need help, and how you can live in harmony with the wild world around you.
