All four of us had a delightful time. It was great to find a pet-friendly vacation spot, but even greater to learn that there are so many more out there! Svetlana and I feel it's important to patronize them, and not just because some pets hate being left in kennels or with sitters. There's another reason for supporting pet-friendly establishments.

We need a world that makes way for pets. Anything that discourages people from having pets discourages adoption. How can we ask someone to adopt an animal in a community where having a pet limits your options when it comes to renting a home or taking a vacation? Pet-friendly establishments make life easier for those who make a lifetime commitment to their pets.

So whether it's a fancy resort or a cheap motel, you might want to travel pet-friendly this summer!
