Tips on Using This Site

Browsers: This site is best viewed on Internet Explorer 5 + for both PC and Mac and Netscape Browsers 6 + for both PC and Mac.

Printing Pages: For the best print results, set your browser to "Print background colors and images.". (If you are using Internet Explorer, go to Tools in the menu bar, then choose Internet Options and select the Advanced tab and scroll down to see this option.)

What to do if text gets cut off on the right side of the page: Web design is optimized for screen viewing and imposes a minimum width that usually doesn't fit on a printed page. Different versions of browsers print Web pages differently. (In most cases, pages will be missing some text on the right side.) 

Fortunately, you can easily change the margin settings in your browser to fit the entire page that you want to print. To do this in Internet Explorer, go to File --> Page Setup and change the left and right margin settings from .75 to .5. This will fit our screens on 8.5 by 11 paper.

Many of the articles on this website are formatted as .pdfs to make them ready to print "as is."

Downloading PDFs:
Almost all of the documents in our Resource and Pet Care libraries are in .pdf format, which you need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view. Most newer computers come with Adobe installed, but if you don't have it on your computer, you can download it for free at Adobe's website.

Downloading Video:
To view video, you will need either QuickTime or Windows Media Player. Visit one of the websites below to download a free media player.  If you are running Windows 98 or older, download an older version of Windows Media Player.

If you got a blue error screen when you attempted to play the video, select a connection speed before clicking "Watch the movie".
